BUTTE — Travis Ian Hunter of Butte has been charged in connection with an armed standoff with police in an Uptown office building 10 months ago.

Hunter, 29 years old, was charged last Friday with three felony counts of kidnapping, assault with a weapon, and criminal endangerment.

Court documents state Hunter entered the office Synesis 7 on North Alaska Street the afternoon of December 27th and threatened an employee with a handgun. A brief standoff with police ensued, with Hunter allegedly firing several shots through a second-story window and then jumping to the ground.

He sustained serious injuries in the fall and was taken to St. James Healthcare.

Police never returned fire and no others were injured.

Police report that Hunter had not been charged while he recovered from his injuries to avoid the county having to cover his medical expenses.

Hunter remains jailed Monday on $125,000 bond.
