NEAR CLANCY — Authorities arrested Bruce Allen Garay near Clancy after he barricaded himself inside a home on Tuesday morning.

Garay, 38 years old, was taken into custody after an hour-long stand off with authorities.

Deputies from Jefferson County and Lewis & Clark County, along with U.S. Marshals, had been looking for Garay after a June incident in Lewis & Clark County.

Highway 282 and Warm Springs Creek Road were closed for the safety of the public during the standoff.

Authorities say Garay locked himself in the residence, but came out and surrendered after gas was deployed by the SWAT team.

We do not yet know what charges he may be facing for the Tuesday stand-off.

Garay was wanted for several felony warrants, including two counts of strangulation of partner/family member assault in Lewis & Clark County, as well as being wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Missouri River Drug Task Force.

According to the Montana Department of Corrections, Garay has convictions for accountability to burglary, and violating an order of protection.
