Police searching for a "person of interest" in connection with Missoula shooting

MISSOULA — Police in Missoula are searching for Zakai Houck - also known as Kai William - who is a suspect believed to be armed and dangerous following a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in critical condition.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office reports that a person was found laying on Ancabide Lane in the Miller Creek area on Monday evening.

The victim sustained several gunshot wounds and is currently in critical condition.

Sheriff’s deputies worked through the night and identified Houck as a person of interest, according to a news release.

The Sheriff's Office says: "20-year-old Houck is 5’11” approximately 150 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair. He is considered armed and dangerous."

Law enforcement is asking the public to avoid the area of Ryman and North 3rd streets at this time.
