MISSOULA — James S. Deaton of Ronan is in jail following a fatal shooting in the Mission Valley.
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell says deputies responded to a reported accidental shooting on Parizeau Lane in Ronan on Tuesday afternoon.
However, officers determined that Jim E. Lewis, 65 years old, had been shot and killed by Deaton, 78a ccording to Sheriff Bell.
The shooting happened indoors, and the men live in the same residence.
Deaton was arrested on suspicion of homicide and is currently in the Lake County Jail.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
