GREAT FALLS — James Edward Snell, Jr., of Fort Belknap was sentenced in federal court in Great Falls this week after being convicted of sexually abusing a child.

Snell was sentenced to 22 years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said in a press release.

Snell, 42 years old, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.

Prosecutors said in court records that an investigation of Snell, and co-defendant Geneva Marie Nadeau, found photographs and videos of them in 2015 sexually abusing a girl, who was under the age of 12.

Nadeau confirmed that Snell was in a photograph of a sex act involving the victim.

Nadeau was sentenced in February to 22 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.

U.S. District Judge Brian Morris presided at the sentencing hearing; Snell was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

(FEBRUARY 7, 2019) Geneva Nadeau of Hays, who was convicted of sexually abusing and photographing a child, was sentenced in federal court Wednesday.

Nadeau was sentenced to 22 years in prison with 15 years of supervised release.

Nadeau, 38, had pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.

Prosecutors said that in October of 2015 in Hays, Nadeau sexually abused a child who was younger than 12, and photographed the abuse, according to the Department of Justice.

Nadeau was indicted after the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office got a tip that Nadeau had an email address that contained child pornography.

Nadeau was arrested on unrelated charges and law enforcement discovered she also had child porn images on her tablet, including the sex abuse of the child.
