MISSOULA — Colton Merritt has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Missoula.
Missoula County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jeannette Smith says Merritt surrendered to Sheriff's deputies without incident following the shooting in the 4700 block of Bailey Street.
Law enforcement officers responded to reports of a homicide shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Daniel L. Merritt of Missoula, 57 years old.
Merritt, 22 years old, was arrested on a pending charge of deliberate homicide and is being held in the Missoula County jail.
No other information has been released at this point, and the investigation continues.
