Two women dead in Ravalli County, suspect arrested

A man was arrested in Missoula in connection with a double homicide that happened in the Stevensville area at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton said in a news release that deputies responded to a 911 call with emergency medical personnel and found two women deceased due to apparent gunshot injuries. A man was also injured by gunfire prior to the suspect fleeing the scene. The male victim was taken to and is being treated at a hospital.

The suspect's vehicle description was broadcast by radio, and law enforcement from the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Missoula Police Department, and Ravalli County Sheriff's Office pursued the suspect until he crashed his vehicle in Missoula. The suspect was apprehended uninjured. The suspect's name has not yet been released.

The Ravalli County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the deaths as a domestic violence incident and there is evidence the suspect was under the influence of narcotics. Because the investigation is currently under investigation, the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office is not releasing the names of the victims until families of the victims can be notified.

The Sheriff's Office has not yet released the name of the suspect. However, a person named Logan Dallas Christopher is listed on the Ravalli County jail roster with pending charges of deliberate homicide, assault with a weapon, and criminal endangerment. According to the jail roster, Christopher was arrested on Tuesday.

(1st REPORT) A police chase down Brooks Street in Missoula ended in a crash near Southgate Mall Tuesday evening.

According to the Missoula Police Department, the Montana Highway Patrol tried to stop a vehicle near Lolo at around 7:18 p.m.

The vehicle headed north on Highway 93, evaded stop sticks, and drove into Missoula at a high speed.

After losing sight of the vehicle, an officer located the suspect at Southgate Mall and the chase continued until the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Sussex Avenue and Eaton Street.

One male was taken into custody, according to MPD.

No injuries were reported, however, the crash resulted in property damage.

The name of the suspect has not yet been released; we will update you when we get more information.
