The Downtown Development Partnership discussed the successes of the past year while moving forward with next year’s plans at Wednesday’s annual meeting.
The Downtown Development Partnership is a group of downtown partners that work together for promotions, marketing, revitalization, and economic development.
Some of the successes include: better safety downtown through safety alliance, working on promotions and several new events that have been brought to downtown, new businesses that have opened, plus creating succession plans for businesses looking at passing on their successes.
An example of a success this year was the pedlet program, which went from one pedlet in 2017 to four downtown this year in 2018 expanding outside seating.
The Downtown Summer Jam is also considered a success and they are looking to continue the series next year.
Another achievement was revitalizing vacant buildings, including the Rocky Mountain Building, which is currently under contract for purchase.
Kellie Pierce, the Downtown Development Partnership Vice Chair, said, “Looking forward to next year, what we’re planning on working on is helping our partners address some of the problem properties, we’re looking at continuing downtown safety, looking at street scape projects to beautify downtown.”
