GFHS students show off artistic talents through art exhibition and sale

Posted

Great Falls High School will show off its artistic talents Thursday through its annual student art reception and sale.

The reception is part of the month-long student art exhibition at the school’s Dahl Gallery.

There will also be a craft sale featuring limited edition Bison Clay Harvest ornaments, Peruvian bracelets, Bison handcrafted holiday cards, and Martinson chocolates.

Pre-ordered ornaments will be pre-packed and ready for pick up. If you did not pre-order, they will have 50-60 ornaments for cash sales.

The clay ornaments were made by students with clay recovered from construction at the school.

The reception is a time for the public to enjoy student works of art and speak with their creators.

Students say it provides a unique experience to see how others interpret their work.

“I’ve been to a few art galleries outside of the Dahl Gallery and it’s great to have a professional sort of feel to it all,” says AP art student Jacob Novak. “Looking at people reacting to your art and seeing, ‘Oh is that the way that I intended them to look at it? Or is that the reaction that I was looking for?’ It’s cool to talk to people too and see what they took away from your art.”

The student art reception runs from 3:15 -4:30 on Thursday and the student are exhibition will be on display until January 13th.
