GREAT FALLS— Sunny skies as of right now, but it was a much different story earlier Saturday morning.
The dangerous combination of falling, blowing and drifting snow made for whiteout conditions on roadways from the morning through early in the afternoon.
At one point in the day, a slide-off occurred on I-15 between Great Falls and Vaughn, after which Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) was on scene to block off a lane.
Here is a look at our current road conditions in our area:
- I-15 from Conrad to Great falls, the highway is covered with scattered snow and ice and experiencing blowing and drifting.
- Much of the same is being reported on highway 87 from Raynesford to Lewistown.
- On Highway 287, from Choteau past Augusta, areas of frost and ice are also being reported.
Continued snowfall is expected to last through Tuesday.
