GREAT FALLS — A downed power line in the southwest side of Great Falls briefly backed up traffic and has caused a power outage.

The 10th Avenue South (Warden) bridge was blocked for a while at about 7:50 p.m.

The Great Falls Police Department told KRTV that officers blocked access to the bridge so that utility crews and Great Falls Fire Rescue could clear the pole safely in the rain.

More than 300 customers in the Fox Farm area are reported to be without power, according to NorthWestern Energy (outage map).

The utility company expects service to be restored by 1 a.m., but that could change.

There is no word yet on what caused the incident; we will update you if we get more information.
