GREAT FALLS — The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many things - but not one organization's mission to promote pride and equality in Great Falls this month.

Meghan Wakeley, a board member of the LGBTQ Center of Great Falls, says the cancellation of Montana's annual Big Sky Pride event led to the creation of a new event this year.

Electric City Pride Fest will feature events online from June 14-28.

Wakeley says the online venue gives all residents a chance to join in Pride Month from the comfort of their couch.

She says the wide range of events reflects the mission of Pride Month. “The large variety of events is something that's really representative of pride, because at pride we do not only try to celebrate our history but we try to educate and include the community."

Here is the schedule:

June 19, 6:30 pm, Jasmine Taylor, Electric Pride Talk

June 20, Electric Pride Fest, beginning at 1 pm

June 21, Electric Pride Family Affirmation Church Service, 9:30 am

June 23, Electric Pride Spoken Word Competition, 6:30 pm

June 26, Kim Leighton Electric Pride Talk, 6:30 pm
