GREAT FALLS — "Fat Tuesday" is traditionally a huge celebration in New Orleans - but the Celtic Cowboy in Great Falls is getting in on the fun, too.

Mardi Gras is a Christian holiday that falls between the end of the Christian Feasts of the Epiphany and Ash Wednesday.

Also known as a carnival, the Mardi Gras holiday has been celebrated by people all over the world for thousands of years, and here in Great Falls, the team at the Celtic Cowboy at 116 1st Avenue South is hosting their own party.

Complete with a live jug band and a full menu of traditional southern-style food and cocktails, the Celtic Cowboy has celebrated the Mardi Gras holiday every year since they opened.

“I just think Mardi Gras is sorta the first harbinger of spring, you know, it’s the first corner we turn coming out of winter time and then St. Patty’s day is the next, so we’re looking forward to that, but tonight’s going to be a great night,” said owner Peter Jennings.
