GREAT FALLS — The BNSF "Holiday Express" train rolled into Great Falls on Wednesday; it includes 15 restored vintage railcars, all decked out for the holidays.

This is the 12th annual trip for the Holiday Express, which is making stops this year in Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California.

In Great Falls, BNSF welcomed more than 300 military personnel and family members on board for this unique ride.

In all, nearly 3,000 military personnel and their families will ride the Holiday Express this season.

“We like to honor our military members each year. BNSF has also been recognized as a preferred employer and a great employer for veterans and also active military members who are still serving in the Guard and the Reserves, and we are very proud of that," explained Mia Lasalle, BNSF spokeswoman.

In addition to the ride, BNSF is also donating to non-profits that help support military members and their families, including $10,000 right here in Montana.
