GREAT FALLS — The perfect way to social distance and travel is by RV, according to Pierce RV Supercenter, and sales are up since the COVID-19 pandemic hit..
We spoke with Craig Painter, who's the store manager, and he tells us They tell us this started two weeks after the pandemic began.
"When it first started, we had a pretty good downturn for about two weeks. We were considered an essential business. So we were still open, we have parts and service as well. And we were taking appointments for sales, and those appointments started to climb and climb and climb, and it went well". says Painter
Painter tells us that ever since the state opened the local campgrounds, it been hectic. But if you live in Montana, you may have the upper hand.
"The thing that's probably changing a little bit too is we may not have as much tourism because of the social distance problems. I know the states open their campgrounds, but the national parks and campgrounds are not opened yet. So With that being said, I think Montanans are going to have a better chance to camp because there's going to be openings". says, Painter
But even though they are doing good, they still face challenges.
"I think the biggest struggle for us right now is going to be getting product because most of this is built in Indiana, and they've been shut down for a couple of months. So that maybe a little bit of a struggle coming up as far as getting some of that product in" says painter
