GREAT FALLS — Small Business Saturday in Great Falls is a bit different this year, as the Downtown Great Falls Assocation is extending the event for the entire week through December 5th. Many businesses are offering specials and discounts in the continuing effort to get people to shop locally.

There will be no Christmas Stroll and no Parade Of Lights in downtown Great Falls this year, due to COVID restrictions, the DGFA announced in a news release. The Christmas Stroll had originally been scheduled for Saturday, December 5th. The annual event normally attracts thousands of visitors to Central Avenue, with food trucks, music, vendors selling crafts, and more. The Parade Of Lights had been scheduled for Saturday, November 28th.

The DGFA shared the following information:

The Downtown Great Falls Association is saddened to not be hosting the 37th Annual Christmas Stroll this holiday season. This year will look very different from previous years, but our goal is to keep everyone safe and support our local businesses, while still having some holiday fun!
The Downtown Great Falls Association is going to host an extended Small Business Saturday to incorporate the week between when we would have hosted the Parade of Lights (November 28th, Small Business Saturday) and when the Stroll would have taken place (December 5th).
We want to encourage everyone to kick off the Holiday Season by shopping locally and supporting our Downtown retailers, restaurants and establishments. Bring the family down for a fun week of "Strolling", shopping, dining and more!
Don't forget to pick up your Christmas Stroll Button at one of the following retailers: Belle's and Lace Bridal, Candy Masterpiece, City Bar, Fetch Pet Boutique, Kaufman's Menswear, Mighty Mo Brew Pub, Montana Mosaic, My Viola Floral Studio, Pizazz, and the Downtown Great Falls Office. Each button purchased will be entered into a drawing for many great prizes!

They added: "The theme we had chosen for this year was "Home for the Holidays" - so please stay diligent, stay safe, and support our local economy this Holiday Season. If you are out and about please stay socially distanced and wear a mask."
