GREAT FALLS — Falls Ink shop owners are adopting a message of love this holiday season as they help provide a good Christmas to families in need.

Owners Kim Pegg and Andrew Littrell want to spread love and cheer this Christmas, treating two lucky families to a Christmas Eve of fun and food.

“We’re gonna stay the night at the shop and eat, watch movies together, wake up, and have an awesome Christmas together.” Pegg said.

The tattoo team will transform their shop to make it fit for festivities.

“We’re gonna move things around and this place is gonna look more like a home than a shop,” Littrell said.

Although they might be full of cheer this year, the holidays haven’t always been easy for these business owners.

“I know what it’s like. I don’t have family other than Kimberly. I spent a lot of Christmases alone. I don’t want anyone else to.” Littrell said.

After facing seasonal struggles in years past, the couple wanted to prevent others from experiencing their own.

“We've been there where we've needed help and we've had people help us with our Christmases, so it's only the right thing to do to give back.” Pegg said.

Their goal is to make a mark on their city.

“I live in this community. So my job is to try to be a positive impact in it now,” Pegg said.

The Falls Ink staff is also committed to the cause, including employee Matraca Kennedy. Kennedy said she feels good, doing good.

“Personally, I like to give more than I receive because it makes me feel better about myself and it makes other people feel better,”

In the future, Falls Ink hopes to do as much with the needy as they do with a needle.

“Hopefully the year after this, we’ll be able to do four families,” Pegg said.

The staff encourages their customers to get involved by nominating a family in need and bringing in non-perishable goods they can use to make the families a nice Christmas dinner.

Falls Ink is offering $5 off piercings for those who bring in 5 non-perishables or canned goods.

Kennedy suggests donating goods that can be used to make holiday dishes.

“Stuff you’d want for thanksgiving green beans, cranberries, mashed potatoes, stuff like that,” Kennedy said.

You can also help by nominating a family in need.

Littrell also encourages families to self-nominate if they need help this Christmas.

“We just wanna stress that if there’s a family that needs to be nominated, that feels like they need to be, don’t be ashamed,” Littrell said.

If you’d like to donate, nominate a family in need for this event, or self-nominate you can do so at Falls Ink located at 3017 10th Ave South
