The Kalispell Elks Lodge gave a generous donation to the Hockaday Museum honoring veterans ahead of Memorial Day.

The Elks lodge presented two checks Friday totaling $2,000.

The money supports the museums Blue Star Program, providing free attendance for military veterans and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Hockaday Museum of Art Director Alyssa Cordova says the program honors veterans for their service and sacrifice.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the community and to honor the service and the sacrifice that these veterans have given to us,” said Cordova.

The Hockaday Museum of Art are currently open on limited hours, including seniors 65 and older only on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
