MISSOULA — Authorities have released the names of the two people who died in a Sunday crash east of Missoula.

Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott said on Monday that 17-year-old Isaac Morse and 18-year-old Damien Miner -- both of Seeley Lake -- died in the Sunday afternoon crash that happened on Montana Highway 200 near Bonner.

The Montana Highway Patrol told MTN News that a sedan was eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and it crashed head-on into a Dodge pickup truck.

Morse and Miner, who were passengers in the sedan, died at the scene, while an additional passenger sustained serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck had minimal injuries.

The MHP reports speed, weather, and inexperienced driving were possible factors in the crash.
