HELENA — On Friday, Benefis Health System announced the purchase of the building formerly home to IHOP at the Skyway Shopping Center in Helena.

Benefis intends to convert the space into a brand new urgent care clinic with plans to open around the middle of the year. Staff will be Helena based with the specialists being able to travel down to Helena from Great falls.

“All Montanans deserve access to exceptional health care,” said John Goodnow, Benefis Health System’s chief executive officer. “Access to convenient, affordable, urgent care fills a crucial need in healthcare, and Benefis Health System looks forward to serving the Helena area.”

The new facility will complement the Benefis clinic being constructed at Capitol Hill Town Center in Helena, a freestanding location that will initially offer primary care and specialty care services. The clinic is still in design phases and they hope to break ground sometime in 2021 and have the building completed in 2022.
