GREAT FALLS — The Montana Highway Patrol reports that one person died in a crash on Monday in Phillips County.

The MHP was notified of the crash at about 10:12 a.m.

It happened on US Highway 191, near mile marker 104.

No other details have been released at this point; we will update you when we get more information.



(UPDATE) According to the Montana Highway Patrol, there was one driver and one passenger in the vehicle.

Road conditions were snow-covered and icy at the time, according to the MHP.

The driver told the MHP trooper that he lost control of the vehicle on the ice, causing the vehicle to go off the left shoulder and then roll.

The passenger died at the scene.

The MHP report says that seatbelts were not worn at the time of the crash, and there is no indication of alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed.
