EAST HELENA — The Casey Truss Company plant in East Helena was destroyed by a fire late Thursday evening.

East Helena Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire on the 800 block of E. Clark Street just before 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters found a large portion of the building engulfed in flames.

A first alarm bell was sent out for mutual aid response from Tri-Lakes, Montana City, East Valley, East Gate, and Fort Harrison fire departments.

Numerous fire trucks and more than 40 volunteers responded to the fire, working well into the early hours of the Friday morning.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

The cause of fire is still being investigated; Sheriff Leo Dutton told MTN News that the fire does not appear to be suspicious or criminal.
