MISSOULA — The Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to a crash on Friday that left one woman dead.

MHP says the driver of a 2018 Toyota Four Runner was northbound on US 93 near Florence a little after 5 p.m. on Friday.

The driver slowed to turn left into a private driveway around mile marker 76 when she was rear-ended by a 2006 GMC Yukon which pushed her into oncoming southbound traffic.

The Four Runner was then hit by a Toyota RAV4, and the Yukon struck by a Dodge truck.

The driver of the Four Runner, a 61-year-old Florence woman, died at the scene, according to MHP. Her name has not yet been released.

Drivers of the Yukon and RAV4 were both taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, and the driver of the Dodge checked out independently at Community Medical Center.

The incident is still being investigated.
