KALISPELL — Jasmine Chase, a teacher at Stillwater Christian School in Kalispell, is dressing up as her favorite Disney character and singing, sending positive messages to her students.

Chase changed the lyrics of the popular Disney song "Part of Your World," one of the signature tunes from the animated "The Little Mermaid" movie.

Chase is one of many teachers who have an empty classroom and no students after Governor Steve Bullock instructed all schools to close in order to stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

So Chase has been working from home and changed the lyrics to fit with missing her students and wishing they were back in her classroom.

Chase is a huge Disney fan and explained to MTN that she wanted to share her love of Disney with others and make people smile during this difficult time: "We really need to be creative and use all the talents we have to let people know that we're there for them and that we support them," said Chase. "I want my students to know that I love them, I want my parents to still know that I'm here. And that it's going to get better, and to be that hope and to be that light."

Chase said it took her several hours to change all the lyrics.
