MISSOULA — A young man is dead after being stabbed late Wednesday in Missoula.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh says officers responded to reports that a man had been stabbed in the 22000 block of South Avenue West at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Welsh says officers found an 18-year-old man with numerous stab wounds.
The officers began life-saving measures before the victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release.
The name of the victim, said to be a resident of Ravalli County, has not yet been released.
The suspect has not yet been apprehended; Sgt. Welsh says they are following several leads in the case, and says there were witnesses to the stabbing.
