KALISPELL — A man died in a head-on crash involving a logging truck near Marion on Wednesday afternoon.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Timothy Mann of Marion died in the crash, which happened at about 2:24 p.m. on US Highway 2 near mile marker 104.

Mann was 70 years old.

Mann was driving west in a Hyundai Tucson when, for some reason, he crossed over the center line and crashed into a semi truck hauling logs. He died at the scene.

The driver of the logging truck was not hurt in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and the MHP reports that alcohol, drugs, and speed are not suspected to have played a role in the crash.

The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
