Missing person alert issued in Montana for a woman who may have been taken against her will

The Montana Department of Justice has issued a Missing-Endangered Person Advisory (MEPA) for Korrine Marie Peterson.

The 20-year-old woman from Spokane, Washington, reported to Lake County authorities in Montana on Monday that she had been kidnapped by her boyfriend John James Monday, age 34.

The alert says that Peterson called Lake County 911 to report that Monday had taken her against her will and was abusing her.

Authorities pinged Peterson's cell phone to the Polson area, but the phone was powered off preventing any further information. Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said on Monday that at the time of the call, it was believed they were in a remote area of western Lake County, possibly the Irvine Flats area.

Sheriff Bell says officers conducted extensive searches of county roads in these areas but were not able to locate them.

Peterson has brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5’6” tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. Monday has with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is 5’7” tall and weighs 190 pounds.

They are in a gray 2012 Jeep Liberty.
