Missoula man dies in crash near Arlee

MISSOULA — A 63-year-old Missoula man died after his vehicle was hit by an oncoming vehicle on US Highway 93 north of Arlee early Wednesday.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports a pick-up truck was traveling north on US Highway 93 just after 2:30 a.m., when the driver drifted to the left and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.

The pick-up truck collided head-on with a Chevy pick-up truck driven by the Missoula man who was southbound, killing him.

The other driver was taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula; the nature and extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.

MHP reports the roads were wet at the time of the crash. Alcohol, speed, and drugs are not suspected in this crash at this time.

The Missoula man’s name will be released by the Lake County Sheriff's Office once his family has been notified.
