MISSOULA — A Missoula man died in a rollover car crash south of Hamilton on Sunday morning.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton has identified the victim as Johnny Rae Donaldson, 34 years old.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the one-vehicle crash happened Sunday in the 500 block of Highway 93 South, south of Hamilton, at around 10:40 a.m.

MHP says Donaldson was the only person in the Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Law enforcement says he was traveling north on Highway 93 when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the highway, went off the west edge of the road, struck a fence, and rolled several times.

Donaldson was thrown from the car; he died at the scene.

The MHP reports alcohol, drugs, and speed are suspected in this crash, and noted that Donaldson was not wearing his seatbelt.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
