MISSOULA — A Montana Highway Patrol trooper was injured when his cruiser was hit by an oncoming vehicle Monday on Interstate 90 in Mineral County.

MHP Captain Jim Kitchen says that Trooper Zach Rahbein was responding to a separate crash, and was inside his parked car when it was hit.

Rahbein was taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

The vehicle that hit Rahbein's cruiser was heading eastbound on 1-90 at around 10:11 a.m. on Monday near mile marker 16 in Mineral County.

We do not yet know if the driver of the vehicle was identified, apprehended, or charged.
