Two people dead after car and semi collide in Big Horn County

BILLINGS — Two people died after a semi-truck collided with a car on Highway 313 on Sunday afternoon, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Kyle Hayter.

The crash happened between Hardin and St. Xavier.

Trooper Hayter said that the crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. when a semi traveling south slid into the northbound lane of a sweeping curve on the highway.

It then collided with a four-door passenger car traveling north.

The semi then went off the road and briefly caught fire.

The driver of the car and a passenger, both adult males, died at the scene, while another passenger, a woman, was airlifted to a Billings hospital via Help Flight with undisclosed injuries.

The driver of the semi was uninjured.

Authoritie have not yet released the names of the victims, and are continuing to investigate.
