Two people died in an overnight house fire in Kalispell

KALISPELL — Two people died in an overnight house fire in Kalispell.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the fire just before 1 a.m. to the house on East California Street.

Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman said that firefighters saw no flames visible from outside, but there was a small amount of smoke.

The fire was primarily contained to the front room of the residence, and had mostly burned out by the time firefighters arrived.

When firefighters went inside the house, they found three people, who were all taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Two of the people died; there is no word on the condition of the third person.

The names of the two people have not yet been released.

The fire was extinguished, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
