KALISPELL — Authorities have identified Alexis Marie Beecham as the young woman who died in a crash on Monday.

Beecham, 20 years old, was from Marion.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office reports that Beecham died in a two-vehicle crash that happened between Bigfork and Somers.

It happened at approximately 8 a.m. on Monday on Montana Highway 82.

MHP reports that Beecham was driving a Buick sedan heading west on Highway 82 when she apparently lost control on a curve near mile marker 4 and crossed over the center line, and was hit by an oncoming Chevy Suburban.

The Suburban hit the driver-side door of the sedan. Beecham died at the scene.

Three occupants of the Suburban sustained serious injuries and were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

MHP Sergeant James Schneider tells MTN News that speed and impaired driving are not believed to be factors in the crash, but there was snow on the road at the time of the accident. There is no word at this point whether she or any of the injured people were wearing seatbelts.

The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
