(UPDATE) A couple is safe after their home caught fire on Sunday night.

Officials told MTN News that several crews responded to the fire at 116 Pinewood Lane in the Highwood Mountains, a two-story log home.

Belt fire officials say both residents were able to make it out of the home, and no injuries were reported.

Belt Rural Fire Department said the cold weather created additional difficulties. Long distance responses resulted in freezing pumps adding one more obstacle that the firefighters had to overcome.

Crews remained on scene all night and the investigation continues into the cause of the fire.

Responding agencies include Belt Rural, Sand Coulee, MT ANG, Malmstrom AFB, Raynesford, Highwood, Black Eagle Fire Department, and Cascade County Sheriff's Office.

We will update you if we get more details.
