Helen Malatare, 96, of Great Falls, passed away on September 28, 2019 of natural causes.

I was born in Alberta, Canada. Before I was a year old we moved to Seattle, WA. We traveled by horse and buggy. If someone had a car it was a miracle. At a year old my sister Lyla was born, then at age four, sister number three, Clara Lee, was born. My father wasn’t around very much, so we knew out mom the best ever. We moved to Montana, lived out of Coram, by now there were eight of us girls.

At age 18 I married Walter Penney. Had two children by him, Billy and Judy. Divorced him and married Owen Hill. He adopted both my children and we also raised his two daughters, Linda and Diane, then moved to Great Falls. We traveled all over Montana, as he worked road construction. When he passed I married Art Peerson of Fairfield, a farmer, boy did I have a lot to learn. Got involved in a few things with the Lutheran Church in Fairfield.

I then married Jim Malatare, the love of my life. We went camping and fishing with a lot of my sisters and their spouses and families. Jim loved to fish.

When he passed I moved back to Great Falls, went with friends, and started dating again.

I moved to the Rainbow assisted living, had a nice two room apartment. Was part of the greeting committee, lead exercise class. Took visitors to their ice cream parlor when ever I got a chance. Loved attending ladies Bible Study.

Goodbye my dear loved ones.

Helen
