The Pondera County Sheriff's Office has identified Briton Alan Bunnell as the Shelby teen who died in a crash on Sunday.

The crash happened at about 11:20 a.m. near mile marker 16 of Highway 219 (Pendroy Road) southwest of Conrad.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a Pontiac car with three occupants was eastbound when the car began to go the right side of the road.

The driver - later identified as Bunnell - over-corrected to the left, at which point the car went off the road and rolled, landing on its roof.

Bunnell and the rear passenger were thrown from the vehicle. Bunnell, 17 years old, died at the scene.

The two passegers - a 16-year old male and a 17-year old male, both from Shelby - were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries; the nature and severity of their injuries has not been released.

The MHP Trooper said that it appears that speed may have been a factor in the crash; there is no indication that impaired driving was involved.
