MISSOULA — From broken lamps to ripped jeans, Home ReSource in Missoula is encouraging people to reconsider tossing their junk, and instead, bring it to a “FixIt Clinic.”

Once a month, Home ReSource gathers local Fixit coaches well versed in sewing, mending, furniture repair and more.

These experts will fix your broken or damaged items and give you repair tips for free.

Through Fix-It clinics, Home ReSource empowers people with simple repair know-how while also promoting sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Home Resource Community Engagement Manager Jeremy Drake says that by hosting monthly Fixit Clinics, they’re not only offering Missoula a great resource, their building community ties.

He said, "This is about building community and making connections around the community, across ages and generations, across life experiences. We all use stuff, stuff always breaks, and this is an opportunity for us to come together around what is ultimately a conservative idea of how to keep using what we already have."

The next Fix It Clinic will be held on February 8th. You can learn more about specific services offered and how to sign up at their website
