Two people died in a Sunday afternoon crash on Montana Highway 200 east of Missoula.

The Montana Highway Patrol responded to an incident around 2 p.m. at mile marker four, in the Bonner area.

MHP reports a sedan was traveling eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and it crashed head-on into a Dodge pickup truck.

Two passengers in the sedan died at the scene, while an additional passenger sustained serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck had minimal injuries.

MHP reports speed, weather, and inexperienced driving were possible factors in the crash. The names of the two people who died have not yet been released.
