GREAT FALLS — We have received several reports of a possible river rescue underway in Great Falls, and traffic backing up near the Warden Briddge.
Initial reports indicated that a person may have been either afraid of falling, or possibly threatening to jump, from the Warden Bridge (10th Avenue South) between 2nd Street and Fox Farm Road.
There are several law enforcement and rescue vehicles in the vicinity, and we have received reports that traffic through the area is slowed/delayed.
One person told KRTV at 4:23 pm: "Lots of sirens, traffic stopped"
Another person posted on the KRTV Facebook page at 4:37 pm: "River rescue happening right now?"
We have a reporter near the area and will update you when we get details.
UPDATE: Just after 5 pm, we received word that the rescue had been called off; we do not yet know if the person actually was in the water. We will post an update if we get details about what happened.
