A massive high pressure ridge will continue to be the controlling factor with our weather forecast.

This system will allow for clear skies and temperatures well into the 90s for most of Montana.

A few afternoon and evening thunderstorms are likely as an incoming cold front attempts to break down the existing ridge.

Storms are expected to remain scattered and mostly in Western Montana.

Storms that do kick off are expected to remain below the severe category, however, an isolated severe thunderstorm can’t be ruled out.

Increasing fire danger will be the main talking point on Wednesday.

An incoming cold front will break down the existing high pressure ridge and kick up the winds.

Gusts in upwards of 30 to 40 mph are expected on Wednesday.

This combined with low humidity and dry vegetation will cause concern for wildfires.

Winds will die down on Thursday and temperatures will remain in the mid to high 80s for the remainder of the week.
