After a beautiful Spring day, rapid changes are expected.
A fast moving cold frontal boundary will approach the area this evening kicking off rain showers, but as the freezing level drops, the rain will transition to snow showers.
Overnight, travel will become hazardous as the showers and freezing temperatures settle in causing slippery roads.
This rapidly moving front will leave up to 3 inches of snow in the mountains and less than an inch is expected in the lower elevations.
After frontal passage, weak high pressure builds in over the area by noon Sunday causing temps to rebound to the mid 40s.
