BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Kids from Buffalo are getting creative as they imagine their dream playground, which will become a reality in MLK Jr. Park.

The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, BlueCross BlueShield of WNY and KaBOOM! are working together to give kids their dream playground by hosting a planning event where kids can draw what they want to see in the future playground. Elements from their drawings will be incorporated into design options for the playground. Then the community will choose the final design that they will help build on September 20th.

Design Day takes place Tuesday, July 2nd at the Buffalo Museum of Science. The kids drawing time begins at 4:30pm. A community planning meeting will take place after at 5:30.

Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, BlueCross BlueShield and KaBOOM! also did this back in May for a new playground in Mayors Park, North Tonawanda. That park is set to be constructed later this month.

KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids safe places to play. These projects aim to make play an easy choice for kids and families by giving them a play space directly from the minds of the kids who will benefit from it.
