Grandview, MO (KSHB) — The family of a Grandview teenager has increased a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in his murder to $100,000.

Damian Norfleet, who just finished eighth grade at Grandview Middle School, was shot and killed in his home around 11:30 p.m. on June 24.

Police are still looking for his shooter.

“My baby just graduated two weeks ago,” Latisha Seaton Norfleet said. “All my son wanted to do was play sports. I just really wish I could get my baby back.”

According to family, 14-year-old Damian was finishing his chores when bullets were fired into his home. He was shot three times and later died.

It was not a drive-by shooting. Family believe the suspect fired the fatal shots from their back porch.

“Imagine seeing your innocent child with bullet wounds,” Damian Norfleet Sr. said. “Trying to save him as much as possible, but you can’t.”

Damian’s parents described him as a helpful brother, who always looked out for his three younger siblings.

His real passion was football. Damian played left tackle and dreamed of playing in the NFL one day.

Now, instead of watching him run summer drills, Damian’s parents are planning his funeral.

“Somebody speak up for my baby,” Latisha said. “Imagine if it was your child. Put your child in my child’s position. You would want someone to speak up for your child. Please, please.”

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Grandview Police Department at 816-316-4985 or the CrimeStoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
