GREAT FALLS — The United Way of Cascade County is getting ready to kick off its biggest annual fundraiser in a new way.

Because of coronavirus, the nonprofit agency has created an online toolkit to help businesses reach employees who are working remotely.

Normally, employees at businesses helping raise money for the United Way’s annual fall fundraiser would fill out a paper form distributed by their company.

The goal this year is to beat last year’s record-setting amount of $1.1 million dollars raised.

United Way spokesperson Kim Skornogoski explained, "What we really want to focus on this year is the fact that, even though it’s going to be harder to reach people in this environment, the need is just so much greater."

This year’s campaign kicks off September 23 and runs through the end of the year.
