GREAT FALLS — For the next several days, you’ve got a little less time to shop at Glacier Family Foods - the grocery store in Browning will close three hours early each day through October 30 to allow more time for cleaning.

The store will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. during this period.

General manager Dori Goss said that there is a staffing shortage because some employees recently tested positive for coronavirus and couldn’t work.

“It just made sense for us to cut the hours,” said Goss. "We wipe everything down with sanitizer and then we go through the store and spray everything down, which is suitable for the grocery store. It’s not toxic.”

Management will reassess the situation on October 30 and decide if the early closure will continue or if the store will resume normal hours.

As of Tuesday morning, the state was reporting 615 active cases of COVID-19 in Glacier County, where Browning is located, including 20 new cases Tuesday.
