GREAT FALLS — There were 187 new cases added to the total on the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map on Saturday morning, and four new deaths reported. Yellowstone County reported the most new cases with 54, followed by Flathead County with 28 and Rosebud County with 27. Gallatin County added 18 cases, and Cascade County reported 15 new cases.
The Flathead City-County Health Department reports all four of the deaths are associated with a recent COVID outbreak in a long term care facility. The total number of deaths associated with the facility is now five; click here for more information.
The data below is from the official Montana website on August 29:
- TOTAL CASES & RECOVERIES: Montana now reports 7,251 cumulative cases statewide, with 5,278 people recovered.
- HOSPITALIZATIONS: There are 128 patients hospitalized, an increase of seven from yesterday, and a total of 429 hospitalizations since the pandemic began.
- ACTIVE CASES: The state reports there are currently 1,869 active COVID-19 cases in Montana, an increase of 78 since yesterday's report.
- DEATHS: The cumulative number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Montana is 104; four new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
- TESTING: The number of tests increased by 2,506 over the previous 24-hour reporting period, for a new cumulative state-wide total of 245,381.
The four counties in the KRTV viewing area with the most (cumulative) cases are Cascade, Lewis & Clark, Glacier, and Phillips.
- CASCADE COUNTY: There have been 280 confirmed cases in Cascade County, an increase of 15 since yesterday. Of those, 161 have recovered, 114 are currently active, and five have died.
- LEWIS & CLARK COUNTY: There have been 196 confirmed cases in Lewis & Clark County, an increase of one since yesterday. Of those, 154 have recovered, 40 are currently active, and two have died.
- GLACIER COUNTY: There have been 135 confirmed cases in Glacier County. Of those, 93 recovered, 41 are currently active, and one has died.
- PHILLIPS COUNTY: There have been 110 confirmed cases in Phillips County. Of those, 105 have recovered, five are currently active, and there have been no deaths.
The City-County Health Department in Great Falls provided the following age/gender information on 14 of the 15 new cases reported in Cascade County: one is a male under the age of 19; one man in his 20s; five men in their 30s; one man in his 40s; two women in their 40s; three men in their 50s; and one man in his 60s.
