GREAT FALLS — Tim Bass, owner of the Bass Clef School of Music & Fine Arts and one of the tenants of the Times Square building in downtown Great Falls, has just completed the purchase of the entire Times Square building.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce announced the purchase and also announced the expansion of the Bass Clef School for Music & Fine Arts to include a large addition of classes ranging from crafting to music theory and even a choir.

Bass had a goal to be able to expand the school into Great Falls' own private fine arts school as well as to make it a one-stop shop for people of all ages to get to know their creative side.

He says this is just the next step and he hopes that Great Falls is with him: “We look for support within our community, for other businesses that may want to be a part of something like this so that we can offer things to families and start building relationships again. True relationships.”

Some of the programs and classes he hopes to provide are culinary arts, ballroom dancing, and crafting.

He believes these will bring people to the Times Square building and foster interaction between people in the Great Falls community.

Marcy Kilpatrick, an instructor and administrator at Bass Clef School, is looking forward to the community getting more involved in the arts: “Hopefully this is going to renew that love for fine arts and get people down here and enrolling in our school and hopefully maybe we can grow even bigger than just Times Square.”

The choir will begin meeting weekly starting February 5th at 7:00 p.m. available to students of the school and open to the public for a monthly fee.

The Ballroom Dance Club will meet March 4th every week from 7 to 8 p.m. at $10 a month

Movie Nights start on February 24th will be weekly from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will have free admission. Organizers do encourage sending kiddos with enough money for snacks and popcorn to help cover the costs to put on these nights. Kids, Parents and families are all invited.

You can find more information on other classes available such as Adult Summer Hip Hop, Music Theory Classes, and Dance camps, on the school’s website and Facebook page.
