GREAT FALLS — Three exhibits, pushed back by the COVID pandemic, are now on display at the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls.
One exhibit features early 20th century photographs of Native Americans; the other two feature paintings.
One is paintings of mammals at Glacier National Park as well as animal bones from the park; the other is paintings of scenes from the park.
"When we build an exhibition, we want it to be compelling. We want to tell a story that people will find substantive, that will cause them to think,” said museum director Thomas Figarelle. “Whether it is a historic artist, a contemporary of Russell's let's say, to a present day artist like Nancy Cawdrey we want to tell the story about how they were inspired by the American West.”
The museum expects to have another new exhibit opening toward the end of next month.
The museum is open Thursdays through Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
