GREAT FALLS — There are several events happening in Great Falls over the next few days. This list is not comprehensive, just a sampling of events that may be of interest. Visit our Community Calendar page to see more events, or to add your own.

Family Promise of Great Falls will host its fourth annual Ramp It Up! event on Thursday, August 22, from 5-9 p.m. at the O'Haire Motor Inn's outdoor patio. Country/rock duo El Wencho will perform at the fundraising extravaganza, which will feature a silent auction with diverse prizes. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, a photo-booth, and more. The Downtown Night Market on Friday, August 23rd, features a variety of vendors, artists, and creations in a street market-style venue along the 300-400 blocks of Central Avenue. Live music by Joe Ryan, and food and drinks will be available. Bring the family and enjoy an evening of shopping and socializing in Downtown Great Falls. The event begins at 5 p.m.

The River's Edge Trail Luminaria Walk is Saturday, August 24th. The Luminaria Walk features more than 1,500 hand-decorated paper bags filled with sand and tea lights lining the trail on the one-mile stretch from Gibson Park to West Bank Park, over the 1st Avenue North Bridge. From 7:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., people can stroll the trail listening to music, enjoying food, and supporting vendors. This is a free, family-friendly event for the community.

Riverdog Fest: On Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. come check out the 2.1 mile fun run/walk at Giant Springs State Park with your fuzzy companions. Participants will be entered in a drawing for prizes. Afterwards, there will be a costume contest and a talent show featuring our furry friends. Prizes will be awarded for best costume and best talent.

Rootsfest returns to Forde Nursery on Saturday, August 24, for an outdoor evening of Americana music. Headliners for this evening are The Black Lilies and Western Centuries. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $30; tickets at the door are $35. Forde Nursery is located at 2025 2nd Avenue NW. Call 406-727-0950 for more information.

The Children's Museum of Montana will host a Back To School Carnival on Saturday, August 24, from noon until 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. There will be games, face-painting, food, and prizes.
