(UPDATE, 9:44 a.m.) The Great Falls Police Department says that Thomas Paul Kennedy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing; he is currently in jail on a charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. The investigation into the stabbing continues, and additional charges may be filed. The victim is said to be in stable condition at Benefis hospital. We will update you as we get more information.
(UPDATE, 8:55 a.m.) The GFPD tells us that the incident is drug-related, and detectives are continuing to investigate a possible stabbing. They plan to release more information later today.
(1st Report,7:41 a.m.) Police responded to an incident at or near Kernaghans convenience store in Great Falls on Sunday evening.
KRTV began receiving reports at around 8:45 p.m. of a large police presence in the area near 8th Avenue North and 15th Street.
Police were at the scene investigating until about 11:30 p.m., and yellow crime-scene tape blocked off a section of the parking lot.
We do not yet know what they were investigating; we will try to get information from the GFPD and keep you updated today.
